Undoubtedly, one of the greatest pride of Peru is its gastronomic wealth. Peruvians identify and mimic their cuisine, to such an extent that it is the main topic of conversation in social circles. Peruvian desserts hide history and tradition in each of its ingredients, many of these very old and born in the neighborhoods of each city of the Inca country. Its beginnings go back to the time of the Spanish conquest, when sugar cane was introduced. Later this tendency of sweets would increase with the creation of convents and monasteries, where the nuns offered the first sweets and desserts.
